DIRECT TRADE

Working directly with growers gives us a wide range of options. Together we take care of the coffee fruits, choosing the right processing to get the best possible final product.

History of Direct Trade

Where did this decision come from?

Direct trade is, to put it simply, directly importing raw material from plantations.
Bypassing middlemen, wholesalers and controlling the entire supply chain.
Why is this so important to us?
Because we know our specialty grains from bush to cup.
This ensures the highest quality and guarantees the uniqueness of our product offering.
Is it easy?
Buying beans from plantations is different from buying coffee from Poland or Germany.
When you buy beans in Europe, everything is on a transaction basis.
You get reference samples, choose specialty coffees, order, pay and you’re done.
With Direct Trade, it’s about creating relationships, getting to know people, building trust, tasting and discussing coffees together and, at the very end, business.
Later it’s importing, research, customs chambers and bureaucracy.

Support for Growers

With direct trade, we provide growers with fair prices for their products, eliminating middlemen and ensuring that they are fairly compensated.

Highest quality raw material

We work directly with our growers to ensure the highest quality of our products by closely monitoring the growing and processing processes.

Transparency and joint decisions

Thanks to our cooperation with growers, we know what the whole cultivation process looks like, we exchange ideas and together we strive for the best quality of grains.

Trips to Panama

Our Head Roster Piotr Wilczewski was in Panama twice before the first direct trade beans arrived.
The first time, he flew there to conduct coffee roasting training for a newly established coffee roaster, and the second time the idea of working directly with the plantation was born.
As a result, a year later he flew to the plantation prepared, with a plan and a goal of buying beans

Travel to Nepal

This time our first contact with Nepalese coffee was in Warsaw, where we met a native Nepalese Binayak.
We’ll be honest – until our first meeting we had no idea that coffee was grown in Nepal… And it turned out to be of very high quality!
It delighted us with its taste, aroma, as well as ideas for experimental processing.
Peter visited Nepal, where he was warmly welcomed and participated in a professional tasting, which included leading coffee specialists.
This experience enabled us to establish direct cooperation with plantations, making us the first Polish roaster to offer coffee directly from Nepal.
